The below is a comprehensive summary of items that comes handy while you start preparing your Singapore visa application.

 

For Indian passport holders, Singapore visa process involves the following,

  1. Document preparation & verification: Preparation of documents (refer the below checklist for more details) usually takes about 5 to 6 days.

  2. Document submission: The documents need to be submitted to The High Commission of Singapore. There are no fingerprint scanning and the submissions may be managed through a third party.

  3. Approval process: Singapore immigration officials review and approve the visas. It usually takes around 5 days for the whole approval process.

  4. Receipt of visa: The visa comes in the form of an electronic document, which can be printed.

Please note the below key aspects before starting your work on documents,

  1. Prepare all documents in A4 size

  2. Ensure that all the scan copies are clear and readable

  3. Do not staple any of the documents

  4. Embassy may ask for additional documents, during the approval process

The below is a summary of documents needed as part of the Singapore visa processing,

  1. Original passport of the applicant,

    1. Handwritten passports aren’t acceptable

    2. Must be valid for at least 6 months from the return date

    3. Must have at least 2 blank pages

    4. One copy of first and last page of passport to be attached

  2. Application Form (Form 14A)

    1. Shall be filled with blue or black pen

    2. If the form is typed, signature is mandatory on all pages

    3. Use the same pen for the entire form

    4. Resident address in form should be same as passport

    5. Do not leave any fields empty

    6. In case of corrections, counter sign against the same field

  3. Photographs: Three recent coloured photographs,

    1. Must be new photos, matte finish

    2. Should be of 35mm X 45mm in dimensions

    3. Should be on a white background

    4. Should not be wearing a white shirt, against white background

    5. Should have at least 80% face coverage

    6. Should be taken within less than 3 months 

    7. Name & passport numbers must be written behind the photos

  4. Income Tax Returns (ITR) files for last 3 years

  5. Flight tickets: The to and fro flight tickets should be attached

  6. Bank statement: Original and updated bank statement for the last 3 months, with the bank’s seal and signature of the authorised person at bank

  7. Covering letter: To be addressed to The Singapore High Commission, mentioning the below,

    1. Date of travel

    2. No of passengers traveling together

    3. Details of itinerary, places to visit and stay

    4. Applicant’s employment details

    5. Details of previous visits to Singapore, if any

    6. Details of local sponsor, if any

    7. Mobile number & email ID

  8. Occupation proof, as per below

    1. For Employed applicants,

      1. Employment certificate/offer letter

      2. NOC/leave letter sanctioned by authorised official

      3. Payslips of last 3 months

    2. For Proprietor/owner applicants,

      1. Cover letter on company’s letter head

      2. Company’s original bank statement, with bank’s seal & signature

      3. Income Tax Returns (ITR) of the company for the last 3 years

      4. Company memo/partnership deal/establishment license

    3. For Students applicants,

      1. Leave letter or report card issued from School

      2. School ID

    4. For Sponsored applicants,

      1. Proof of sponsorship and/or private accommodation by completing a national form of the Schengen State concerned

    5. For Retired applicants,

      1. Proof of retirement

      2. Pension statements of last 3 months

      3. Proof of regular income generated by ownership of property or business

  9. If you’ve not travelled to any of the countries among US, Schengen, UK, Australia, Japan, New Zealand or Canada, the below additional documents are needed,

    1. Hotel confirmation vouchers for all the nights, with the hotel name, address, telephone number and email ID, along with the payment receipt.

    2. Employment proof/offer letter or NOC from company

  10. If the applicant is traveling for honeymoon, then the marriage certificate or marriage card along with the engagement photographs are needed. Fresh photos are needed, instead of old ones, which were used for an earlier visa.
